elcome to Jamestown

The success of our Nima program led to the replication of our activities to Jamestown. Jamestown was the first location the British settled in as they colonized Ghana, then called the Gold Coast, it even earned the title of British Accra but still remains the most deprived communities of the capital. With an estimated population of 80,000 people. In a recent report by Edulink states that, 40% of girls and 20% of boys  between the ages of 15-20yrs have engaged in sexual intercourse with high resulting in teenage pregnancy.
In our efforts to impact change in the Jamestown community, DUNK constructed the first ever community safe play space to reach out to children between the ages of 6-19years.
The facility jointly funded by our lovely friends from Switzerland, volunteers, individual and corporation; consist of a multipurpose court, a library, equipment room,  office and vocational space for teenage mothers to learn a trade.

We believe the children can influence change in their community.
In any collective sport, players have to work hand in hand to achieve a common goal. The victory depends on the effort of all.
Players have to commit themselves to train on specific days & make sacrifices for the benefit of the team.
Coming from different backgrounds, we learn how to respect individual differences as well as respect the rules established by the team.
We are teaching the kids to trust in themselves, to stand up for what they believe and resist peer pressure.
