DUNK stands for Developing Unity, Nurturing Knowledge. We are a youth-led, community-based,  Non-Governmental Organization registered by the office of Registrar General and Department of Social Development under the laws of Ghana as a charity No. G-34, 548.

Our mission is to create safe spaces for at-risk women and children ages 8-19 living in the most deprived communities of Accra. Through sports (basketball), after-school support, life-skills & vocational training we encourage our members to Play, Learn & Grow as well as empowering them to become agents of change in their own communities.

DUNK is currently operating in the two most deprived communities in Accra, Ghana, called Nima and Jamestown reaching out to over 250 children and hosting over 20 volunteers/interns annually.

are DUNK’s five values.

We believe the children can influence change in their community.
In any collective sport, players have to work hand in hand to achieve a common goal. The victory depends on the effort of all.
Players have to commit themselves to train on specific days & make sacrifices for the benefit of the team.
Coming from different backgrounds, we learn how to respect individual differences as well as respect the rules established by the team.
We are teaching the kids to trust in themselves, to stand up for what they believe and resist peer pressure.
